Certified Sex Counseling

Sexuality is a deeply personal and multifaceted journey unique to each individual. At Albuquerque Sex Therapy, we offer certified sexuality, a holistic approach that fosters self-discovery and personal growth in areas such as sexual health, relationships, education, and more.

What Is Sexuality Counseling?
While sex therapy provides in-depth psychotherapy with licensed clinicians, sexuality counseling offers broader support, including education on sexual health, relationship dynamics, physical functioning, and emotional intimacy. Certified sexuality counselors meet the rigorous training standards set by organizations like the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).

Focuses include:
  • Intimacy & Desire: If you’re dealing with low libido or emotional intimacy concerns, counseling can help you reconnect with your desires and your partner.
  • Communication & Relationships: Strong, open communication is key to healthy relationships. Learn techniques for navigating challenges with honesty and understanding.
  • Sexual Health Education: Get accurate, judgment-free information about sexual health, including birth control and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
  • Menopause & Sexuality: As a Menopause Society-certified provider, Jane offers specialized support for navigating the sexual changes that come with menopause.
  • Alternative Relationships: Exploring non-monogamous relationships like polyamory or swinging? Counseling helps you establish boundaries, manage emotions, and communicate effectively.
  • Kinks & Fetishes: Curious about exploring new desires? Jane provides a non-judgmental space to explore kinks and fetishes within healthy, consensual boundaries.
  • Identity & Orientation: Are you exploring questions around sexual orientation or gender identity? Jane provides a safe, supportive space for understanding and acceptance.
  • Body Image & Self-Esteem: Are you struggling with body confidence? Counseling can help you develop a positive self-image and embrace self-love.

One of the unique benefits of sexuality counseling is its focus on privacy. Unlike insurance-covered therapies, which often require a formal diagnosis, sexuality counseling allows for more discretion. Embrace your sexual journey with confidence. Our safe, supportive space fosters self-acceptance, open communication, and personal growth—leading to a more fulfilling sexual life.
